Create your Own Boilie

There are two ways to use the boilie Factory ’bait configurator’ if you have a fairly clear idea of the boilie you are trying to formulate then you can quite simply work through the categories adding the ingredients you want, just tweaking the inclusion levels up and down until you have the finished bait.

On the other hand you now have the ability to go in with a totally open mind and create a unique recipe that has never been used before, if you want baits of far higher quality than you buy ’off the shelf’ this is the place to formulate them. Every branded boilie available through shops has to be made on a fairly tight budget so that it can be supplied through the chain of Manufacture - Retailer- Customer, so every boilie you can buy has had limitations imposed as to the ingredients used, or more importantly the actual amounts used. Using the bait configurator you are in control of not only the ingredients used but the levels that are going into your finished bait. For every additive we have given the option to use different levels within the bait. These have been worked out so that you can’t ruin the bait by putting too much in, while at their lower levels they will still be of benefit to the final recipe.

As a rule of thumb - if you want to create a subtle bait to use for several months, or as a baiting campaign, then concentrate on natural ingredients, essential oils, fish oils, N. butyric etc. If you are using one ingredient from a category be guided by the recommended levels as these will give a balanced finished bait.

When you begin to combine flavours you still need to keep a balance within the recipe e.g. Using Strawberry at 10ml/ kg is fine, adding some Scopex would be good, but the total flavour used should still be close to 10ml, so you can go 5ml of each for a balanced smell, 7ml & 3ml for a predominant Strawberry with background Scopex. The combinations are endless and every finished recipe could give you a massive edge on the pressured carp waters we are faced with these days.

If you prefer to fish shorter sessions, not pre-bait or fish boilies over the top of pellets and particles then you can use the configurator to produce a huge range of 'high configurator' bait recipes. Using a combination of additives at their higher levels you can design baits with real pulling power - but don’t worry, the configurator will stop you creating a combination of ingredients that is too strong.

One of the most exciting aspects of the configurator is the ability to design absolutely top notch, ’Rolls Royce’ recipes. If you want to fish with a small amount of true high quality bait, while everyone around you is using large amounts of low quality bait this is the place to get it. For example, you could use the 5kg powder option, adding a high level of mussel, some soluble fish protein and Krill meal, (maybe a bit of Robin red), a blend of salmon and hemp oil, N.butyric acid and an essential oil. You have total control over the inclusion levels and even though you would have created an expensive bait you would have created a finished bait beyond the quality of any ready made boilie available.
